Default HELP Where do I get the window felt? I'm getting my windows tinted wednesday!

So I've decided to get my windows tinted, but I read that because the windows go up when you close the door and down when you open it that this could scratch my tinting. I also read that there is felt that you can buy to fix this issue, but I can't find anywhere to buy it and my local ford dealer claims that they've never heard of it. PLEASE HELP, thanks -David

I can't recall the site I ordered mine from, but it was half the price of what this site has...but it's still not that much.

http://www.tintprotector.com/ford/index.htm

edit : Also, it's not because the window moves upon opening and closing the door, but the material used on the weatherstrip inside the door.

How does the felt work for you? Also does anyone else have these kits or has anyone had there tint scratched without it?

Pacostang do you know what product was used to tint your windows? How long have they been tinted? I really want to tint mine but this is kinda changing my mind.

I will look on my receipt to get exact shades and brand. I've had it tinted since September 2008. Tint look's great, only regret was not getting it done sooner.

Thanks I really appreciate it, I think it would look sweet and Im probably gonna have it done this wednesday. I'm thinking 35% front (legal in my state) and 20% in the backs. Black on black plus tinted windows should look sweet.

Ford found the problem in 07 and started putting the felt on
08s and up.
I have an 07 without the felt and my windows are not tinted.
I would ask the dealership what the difference is between the
05-07s not needing the felt and the 08-09s needing it.
And why yours didnt come with it. And wont they put it on for free...
There is no different door panel or window strip, just that
the newer S197 stangs have it and the older ones dont.
The 2008 felts fit the 05-07 s197 stangs.
