I posted this in a different spot but only had one response in several days. So I thought I would try another location and see if it helps with replys.
I have a 2006 Mustang v6. I think my low beam lights are terrible and would love some more light ahead of me so I can see what is coming. I have done a great deal of reading on this topic but I want some opinions from other mustang owners. I have been told that HID do a much better job than Projector lights, but heard HID can be illigal in some states and blinds other drives, etc. so....
1) HID vs Projection
2) Can I get Halos on HID? Do these last long? One MF member was saying that the halos don't last. I am curious if that is everyone's opinion as well.
3) Is it better to get conversion kits or whole new headlights?
4) If I get HID, how do I avoid being illegal?
Thank you for your time. I really appreciate it. I know some of the information here may be repetitive, but I would feel better about having my questions answered directly.
Thanks again!!

A lot of your issues are most likely the reflector and not the bulb. You might want to try a pair of Silverstars. They run at 4000K as opposed to about 3500K for the stock bulbs. Anything much beyond 4500-5000K begins to turn blue and you get LESS useful light. They Silverstars are a slight improvement over stock. I have them in all of my vehicles.
+1 for the above but as for useful light, I would disagree. A properly aimed 6000k-8000k will be brighter in most situations. I live in the desert so it's perfect for me since there's no street lights and the such.
But if you live in the city, yes, due to interference, anything above 6000k is moot.
I ABSOLUTLEY LOVE MY HIDS. BEST MONEY ive ever spent. Mostly for looks and the way they light up the road. Once you drive with HIDS you dont want to drive with halogen again.
However, HALOS do not last with hids. The HID burns so hot that itll just kill the halo.. my halos died in like amonth but i dont care, i love the hids haha.

OR should I be looking for whole new headlights instead of conversion kits?
Relay and you need to fool your SJB so they dont flash....
Those HIDs linked to are cheap china crapola...
You get what you pay for.
There are no 'deals' when it comes to electronic gear
like the ballasts that HIDs have....

Haha,
Sorry 157db. I wasn't second guessing. Just didn't want to make a decision on one person's opinion that all. I will try to limit my notch knocking in the future.
