My wife has an '07 v6 vert w/36K on it. Whenever there are two people in the car (normal size) the car bottoms out or hits when it goes over a speed bump at a normal "speed bump" speed.
Any suggestions?

Carry around some 2x4's, around 4 should suffice. Now here's the tricky part, make sure the end 2x4 is exactly on the apex of speed bump. Take the derivative of the slope and check if it's zero just to make sure. Bad things will happen if you screw this up. Also, try taking the bodies out of the trunk, they tend to weigh things down a bit.
Is the car lowered? My 06 has never bottomed out over a speed bump. Otherwise try taking it at an angle as stated above or even slower than you were already.

some speed bumps you have to slow way the hell down. There is one that is only 3 inches high but very sharp at the leading edge, i have to crawl over it at just over idle. others can be hit at 25mph with out any issues.
I lowered my car 1.25" - 1.5" inches and I would bottom out, once I got my tokico d-specs on (adjustable shocks/struts) I put them a little more firm and I don't bottom out anymore.
Also, define acceptable speed bump speed. I slow to to like 2-5mph for speed bumps.

That's exactly what I do when I go over the stupid things. I know the people behind me get impatient, but I don't care. I swear the one at out local Sam's Club is like a mountain!
Lol @Inferno. I hate speedbumps but it probably is a speed thing. If I take one too fast and straight on there is a loud and unnerving "BANG"...dont think it's bottoming, think it's my chit suspension lol.
