Based on my GT and my g/f's V6 plus info from the forum, I believe the typical difference between the GT and V6, all else being equal as far as driving style, weather, type of roads, etc, is about 3 MPG. That's not much.

70 to a quarter tank on all highway driving is what I got in the last 2 days...and I've stayed off the gas for the most part....running the 93 performance tune.....til this day I am not sure which is better for mpgs either the performance or torque one??? Both put alot of power which I really like.
Another thing, would a Fuel Filter Change and Livewires and Coil Pack upgrade give me more power as well as mpgs?
I average 22 to 23 mpg in the city and that is calculated by hand. I have the on board computer too and it says 22.9 so it is not off by much.
I haven't taken it on a long ride yet, but I'm sure it would get close to 25 or better.
I could be wrong, but I think when you guys add performance tunes and such, you get less mpg because you like the way the car accelerates better.
Try taking your foot out of it and back the tune down some.
I do a mix of city and hwy and average between 20 and 24 mpg. having the top down drops it to 18 or 19. I haven't seen 300 out of a tank yet but I usually get fuel when it gets between a half and a quarter tank.
2010 5 Spd , XCAL 3 tune for 87 octane, New JLT CAI, MAC exhaust , Mobile1 Synth. oil. driving 40 miles a day back and forth to work, running 55 to 75 MPH, sometimes running it up to 80 running up the rpm's from a red light, I get 330 miles to a tank, with4 gals, left over...I also find Shell 87 gives me better mileage than BP, Walmart, Hess gas.
Commute can have a lot to do with it. My daily drive is 15mi to work and 15mi back on local roads. My V6 will average 19-21. If I go on a highway roadtrip, I'll start pushing mid 25s or so. The 4MPG across the tank a fuel can account for a chunk of mileage.
Variables: Full MAC CAI, custom 87 tune, 18" GT takeoffs, GT takeoff muffler
My stock 2008 V6 with Pony Package is getting exactly the same.
Engine size seems not to make too much difference a guy in our club has a '06 GT withalmost 500 Wheel HP and get 35 MPG on Highway and not a mistake 16 Gal take almost 450 Miles to a tank 30 in town with a Vortex blower.

I'm sorry, but I find that really hard to believe! He must drive like a granny to get anything near that calculations and trust me, he ain't getting 30 mpg in the city, even if it were a 4 banger Mustang! He's talking out his butt!
