I meant "a bunch over here" as in Mustang Forums. The 4.0 community on this site is large.

So there are finally cams worth a damn for the 4.0?
Are they compatible with FI?

His cams are actually Centri cams that PH made him. He's just running them NA and on the juice. But other folks are looking into it with other builders. Theres another 4.0 guy having L&M motors do his cams. I just got my motor back from L&M actually, they do good work.

Nah - BBR was supposed to be working on some that are off the shelf, that work with stock valve springs...but not sure what happened with that.

Thanks Todd for posting up all of the details of Tony's runs. Although Tony's 12.4xx time is the quickest to-date for a 4.0L on the 100 shot, his N/A times of 13.6xx were what really impressed me at the rental. There were quite a few new personal bests that day. I had a great time! Who knew that yellow cars could be quick? [/sarcasm]

Thanks for coming out Bill. Your car is even cooler in person.

As for Tony's car, yea, I'm also more impressed with his NA passes. I posted this cause there's a lot of speculation on heads and cams on various forums, and those of us that ran them did so with power adders. But this is the only real world numbers we have on a head/cam setup that ran all motor.

To put it in perspective, conservative boost setups with the 4.0, and a safe tune with minimal supporting mods run in the 13's. Tony's able to do the same thing with heads/cams and minimal supporting mods.

When he had the Procharger on it, at 10lbs of boost, it went 12.0@117. But he didn't have the 3500rpm stall at the time, so I'm sure he could have cracked 11's if he did. Anyway, point is, heads/cams are a big difference maker for the folks that get really serious about the 4.0.

Great post. I never really knew the potential our 4.0's had before I read this. Thanks!

I would still like to hear how the 4.0 sounds with heads/cams.

The idle of his car is simply wicked. I think there is one vid of it floating around.
