We V6 owners benefit from the ready supply of new take-off GT parts. I've already done the GT exhaust and front & rear sways. I've got my eye on GT bumpers. I was at the Ford dealer today and noticed only a few 09 GTs still on the lot. It suddenly occured to me that once the 09s are all gone, our supply of matching new takeoff parts will start drying up. What do you all think? Do we need to accelerate our modding plans before the GT parts are all gone? How much time to you figure that these will still be in the pipeline? Do you think we'll see price increases as the parts get scarcer?

That's definately likely. But you can still use many parts (other than body components) from the '10s on the '05-09s so things won't dry up too fast. But as newer models come out, the OE parts sitting in warehouses will find their way to market. Companies won't want "old" stuff taking up valuable floor space. Regardless, anyone with an S197 that intends on doing mods w/takeoff parts or OE items will need to keep a keen eye out.
It's not "coming". There already is a shortage of the new take off bumpers or side skirts and has been for some time. I used to be able to get them easily from a supplier, but in the last year it became real tight because Roush et al were waiting for the 2010 and the take off parts from their 2005-09 were already out in the market.

Are you a little salty about the fact that the 2011 are going to have much more HP? I had thought about getting a 2010, but after finding out about the 2011s I can't see spending the money when I can wait a year for an extra 100 hp.
Dont mean to steal the thread, just a quick question.

I really doubt that they will really have 100 more HP. Maybe 275 tops. And they arent giving this HP away for free, these models will most likely cost around $3000 more. So if your that worried about it just buy a 2010 and supercharge for the lower insurance and even more power. Plus you will have fun driving it for another year. Most importantly enjoy what you have and do what you want.

They are saying that the 2011 v6 will be 315 HP and the gt will be 400. As far as paying 3000 for that model, all the v6's and gt's are suppose to be that way. They are going with a different engine setup. The insurance won't be much different between a 2010 and a 2011.
