idle rpm

Whats the benefit to rasing the idle rpms?

i dunno but sometimes i like to lower them because the low exhaust note is really tight
the higher rpm idol might benifit reaching higher rpms faster
you idol at 900 and it will get you to 2500 faster then if you idol at 550 and try to get to 2500
but again i dunno
