People with tuners
Has any one changed the timing on there car, I put mine at 4 degrees from 0 to 2000 and 2 degrees from 2000 to 4000. Thats what they told me at breenspeed to get it out of the whole better. Is this bad for my car or can I leave it like this without worrying about anything if it runs fine.

It MIGHT be bad for you car if you are "pinging" or detonating.. You can either listen VERY CLOSELY for the car pingin... or better yet if you have access to a laptop hook you can use the datalogging feature of the x-cal2 and watch the knock sensor to see if they are detecting knock and pulling any timing...

I would think you would want to retard the timing from 0-2000 to cut the power a little on launch so your wheels don't spin. If you launch at 1500 that retarded timing could help your 60' time.

when I advanced my timing 2degrees on 0-2000, my low end power decreased. I had hard time spinning wheels so i had to return it to stock 91 Octane setting on SCT Xcal2.
Strange since on my other cars advancing the timing improves take off power and improves economy.
Maybe computer is compensating or something.

Temperature is critical too... as intake temps go up, possibility of detonation increases. What's safe in March might kill your engine in July.
In general, if you want to push ANY car to its limit, you must face the possibility of engine and trans failure. Why does this happen so often to race cars that have had millions spent in engine development.... because they are on the limit. If you want to eck out the last 1/10th of a second, you have to accept a $3000 engine or trans repair could be just around the corner.
