Default Thinking about the XCAL II

Im pretty sure my next mod is gonna be the XCal II. What tunes do you recommend for the V6? I wont be going to the track or anything. I use the car for everyday purposes. But I do need that extra boost on the HWY. I always think to myself, Hey I should be leading the pack! Also this is a newb question. For the different octane tunes do you have to wait till your gas tank is empty then fill it with the required octane than switch the tune?

If you have an automatic I would go with Alternative Auto.

I don't believe so but they specialize in Automatics so you know you are getting a great tune.

You will here lots of people say that this or that company has the best tune........

All I can suggest is do a search on the subject. As far as personal preference goes, I have evolution performance's tune on my 05 Auto and I am very happy with the results. Thay are a sponsor on the site too............

I have an Evolution 93 Xtreme tune (with C&L intake), and I am very pleased (4.0L /auto). I tried the 87 tune recently, and noticed it to be a bit more sluggish than the 93 Xtreme. For me, it's worth the few extra bucks per tank to get the added performance out of the car.

To answer your question on gasoline, yes you want to get the lower octane out of the tank (run it to E) and fill up with the higher octane gas before changing to that tune. I was also told to use brand name 93 octane gas with my tune, versus gas from the discount stations.

The proof is in the pudding..... Alternative Auto 14.6 and 14.3 Boss244 fastest NA autos on the site. If you want you can watch my vid and see how a properly tuned auto shifts gears. Good Luck
