Default Non typical muffler ques

I know, I know, us v6 guys beat this to death, but I do have a question for all of you. Ive seen and compared all the axleback systems for the 4.0 and the dual exhaust systems, My favorite is the MRT so far from just sound clips and personal testimonies plus if scrming likes it then im sold! The MRT axle back seems like the best but $225? Im a POOR Engineering student and I want to increase performance for free or close to it. (I already did the TB bypass). The MRT is stainless steel and that means I cannot afford it. I was looking on summit racing.com and found some universal mufflers for around $20 ! I was wondering if anyone can give me advice about putting one of these on. Should I? I want it to sound good, but I would really rather increase performance. Is there a way to find out what my stock v6 flows in terms of cfms vs. other mufflers? How much work would it require to put one on? Can I do it without welding? Please help w/any useful advice thanks guys your awesome.

you could take off your muffler and put a straight pipe and weld hangers on it. Should run maybe 50 bucks

A right side gt muffler will bolt on, increase hp, and cost less than $70.

gt takeoffs are very nice. It will not however be near as loud as the mrt. Im being serious about the straight pipe.

GT take offs are the way to go. Saw a pair the other day for $25 plus shipping. It'll cost you more than that to have the muffler shop make hangers for the other ones.
