What is the "real" benefit of the original baseline "tune" stored into your tuner?

What is the "real" benefit of the original baseline "tune" stored into your tuner?
Soon I'll be buying a CAI and tuner. I've read references to saving the baseline tune. As an open question, is there any "real" importance for doing this... related to warranty work on the car, or something else?

So you can return your car to stock, why else? You may want to
1. Fake the dealer out and return it to stock
2. Get a new tuner and sell the old one, which requires you to return to stock
3. Get rid of your mods when you go to sell, and have to return to stock

ya i had the same question when i got my tuner but infact this is one of the most important things a tuner does
if there is ever any problem with a tune file
or you have warentee work to get done
or you just want to take it easy on the engine for a while
the stock tune is always there to back you up

Once you load a new tune into your car, your tuner is locked and for the most part, married to the vehicle. You can't use it to tune another vehicle until you restore the stock tune to the current vehicle I believe that you can read trouble codes.
