If you talking about the Ge Force T-5’s this is the one I am considering and will most likely go withif I go thought with the swap but that would be when my tranny gives out. I have heard they are very good transmissions and the only other one that Ihear good things aboutthan the GF T-5 is the TKO 500. So far these are the only two trannys I am considering will most likely be a GF T-5 at this point. The TKO 500 alsoI not sure yet on what or if any modification (tunnel wise)would be needed as a direct bolt up.

well, in the article, they were rebuilding our t-5, and they were bumping up the gearing to something like 2.95, which is supposed to work really well with any gear setup higher than 3.55's

The GeForce trannys I am talking about are 550 rwhp and up so not sure if we are talking about the same trannys. The 295 first gear you are talking is only for first gear and when ordering a Geforce depending on you rear gears you can choose a 251, 295, 340 etc first so it really depends on the rear gears and what you want.
Now our T-5 I believe has a 3.75 first gear so yes a 2.95 will work better with 373’s – 4.10’s etc will give you a longer first gear and will work better imo with the above rear gears but of course we are talking just first gear has no effect on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc. the other gears on our T-5 are not bad just first gear we could use a different ratio.
Deal Stang 06 what magazine, date and page is that article on would like to read it?
