Stock X-cal 2 vs. Bama/Brenspeed?etc...
OK, I bought the C & L intake and X-cal tuner for my 2005 V6. I hooked them up and ran the stock tuner options in the 89 octane mode with 0% shift pressure change. I first noticed the throttle response was quicker, but still not impressive. It peeled out most of the time from a floored dead stop. I ran it this way for several months. As you know gas has come back down a little. So I switched my tune to the performance octane setting and filled her tank with 93 octane. On the cooler 50deg. night, I tried her again. I did a one wheel burn/smoker all the way through first and well into second ( oh yeah, I've got an auto!). It was pretty sweet.
So my question is, has anyone out there played with their car and tuner before purchasing tunes from one of the independent dealers, AND, if so, is the difference that noticeable? 'Cause I've impressed with what is happening with my current stock X-cal 2 SF.
