The max psi out a PORTED unit is 12-14 max. The Cobra guys then move to a diff FI to get to desired power levels. An IC will make the X more appealing but still has its limits. Several have well traveled this road and the numbers are there. The X with all the supporting mods is a low 13 sec car, add juice (and danger level) 12 s are in the cards. A turbo with a correctly sized unit is the most efficient FI out there. No drag from a belt. Several PH cars have traveled that road as well. If you want a fun street/strip with awesome low end grunt, wicked shriek the X can work for you. If you want a faster car that doesn't sound quite as cool but, want to go faster, turbo may be your choice. Good luck with the mods. Oh and what other car do you have?
the 03s had the m112

the mp90 is derived from the s/c 3.8 engine

oops fazm you are right. The mp90 is still maxxed out at around 12 lbs boost. Even the m112 ported ran out of steam by 14 psi. If I had the cash I would run the PH kit on my car. Proven design that kicks arse at the track.

Not sure, I know Dave started on it, but he also has carb certification to do too. Doug did a custom one, though the X was sticking out of the hood with it on.

Big time, 12 is the most. Ask any Roush S197 owner with the MP90.

It's speculation at this point, 1500 bucks maybe?

That's been my rough guess, too.

I'd suggest anyone with serious intentions... really serious intentions... send Dave (at http://www.ExplorerExpress.com) an E-mail and let him know you plan on buying one as soon as they're available.

$1500 bucks for an intercooler?!?!

So in that case:

X-Charger Hi-Po w/tuner $4420 + Intercooler $1500 = $5920

vs.

Powerhouse 411 Turbo = $5195

Seems like a no-brainer for me.

That's a difference of $725 not including taxes which is huge, considering the fact that the turbo gives you more power.
