Default Sct Tuner Problem.

Hello all I'am new to the forums but I have been looking on the site for a very long time just havent had the push to join lol. Well last night I was going to tune my car which is a 2006 mustang v6 auto I hooked it up to the 0bd2 port and turned the key to on which turned on the sct tuner and went to install the tune which is a 87 tune and when I hit install tune the tuner went blank and the instrument cluster went blank aswell. So I freaked out turned the key to off and pulled the tuner from the obd2 port and turned on my car well everything on the car works but the instrument cluster and the tuner will not turn on when I hook it up to the obd2 port. The car runs and drives fine and everything works but this. I'm kinda at a lost on what the problem is and what to do I have never heard of this happening. Does anybody have any ideas? And is it a big problem? (I'm talking time to fix and money lol) I would be greatful of any help.

You blew a fuse in the box in the passenger side footwell panel. I don't recall which one it is now, but check the owners manual and you will see which fuse controls the dash board (and the OBD port).

Do you have any aftermarket electrical equipment on your car? I have a dash mounted
Sirius tuner and if I leave it on while changing tunes I blow that fuse - something with the way it is set up to the power source. So turn off any after market equipment, and your radio as well.

Now that I think about it I did have my radio and radar on. Could it be anything else?

Radar unit did it. I blew that fuse several times before I realized that it only happened when my Sirius unit was powered up. The SCT and aftermarket electrical stuff like that doesn't seem to play nice together.

You wouldnt have a idea which fuse it is would you? I'm the second owner of the car and the first owner has the owners manual.

I can't find my pdf version of the manual - so ran out to the car and did a scan of the page.

It's a 10a mini fuse, located in the center at the top of the panel, fuse #8

When I tune my car I just plug the tuner into the data port. It powers up on its own and I follow the directions it reads out. I never touch or turn the key until it tells me.
