True but alot of people get a v6 mustang for that magic MPG number.

This is my only ford with a v 6 do have an 80 f 150 with a straight six. But i did buy the six for the gas mileage. I f i want to drive a v8 just jump in the street rod. The mustang is my daily commute car except in the snow, 80 miles round trip. I get between 26.5 to 28, that is calculated if i go off the dash get as high as 34. I live in the Catskill mountains so going to work i get the better mileage more down hill. drive is a mix of highway and stop and go rural roads. Biggest mileage increase was the addition of a gt take off muffler. was good for 2 mpg. I also have a coil and wires from Granatelli Motor Sports plugs gapped at .60. good for about 1 to 1.5 mpg. also have an air grabber air filter. I have duals now no increase in mpg. I did try a set of cali mufflesrs and milage dropped to 24 took those off sitting on self now.

V6 Auto 50/50 city/hwy mix - was seeing about 21 AVG when I got it in March, but now I seem to be seeing around 19 AVG as I have begun to drive a little more agressive. I am also running on 92 now. I was using 89 when getting 21, so I must have really been taking it easy when I got it!

I hand calculated it when I filled up last and Im at 17.9mpg with a fair amount of city driving. I have an incredibly heavy foot that gets heavier every day. And no I didn't buy a mustang for the mileage but was curious what everyone else got. Thanks everybody.

Cruise at 140mph? Man I wish we could do that here in the US. I mean you can, but thats a huge ticket if you get caught... What rpms are you at when your going that fast?

Default According to the dash readout

According to the readout on the dash - my GT is getting 33 mpg!? WTheck? TAKE THAT TOYOTA! (if its accurate, and I think it is - I can drive an entire week on a single tank of gas - but I only drive it to work and back. I drive something else when I'm running around in my hometown) I do drive a solid 30 miles one way to work, and its open highway - four lane divided, and just to 'flip off' the oil industry, I drive an agonizing 55 - 60 mph... When I crank it up to 70-80 mph, and run all over town in my lunch hour, the MPG plummets to 17-19ish.

And there I go, posting in the 4.0 section again. *smecks self on the forehead* Sorry guys!
