Step By Step Guide for Replacing Lower Thermostat Housing
I've got an '03 Ford Ranger with the 4.0L SOHC V6. I believe they started putting this engine in Mustangs starting '05. I recently wrote up how to replace the lower thermostat housing on this engine, so thought it might be useful for you guys as well. The guide is called How to Replace the Upper and Lower Thermostat Housing on a Ford 4.0L V6 SOHC Engine. It is a detailed step by step walk through, including lots of photos. Perhaps too detailed for some of you, but helpful for those who haven't done as much of their own wrenching. The lower housing has been failing for many people, although probably not so much on the Mustangs yet since they aren't that old.
