If I step on the gas 3/4 to full from idle roll or 1/4 throttle I get a big buildup of RPM's then the car finally decides to respond and will begin to speed up. I can hear the engine build up, but the transition to the wheels is majorly delayed (a couple seconds.)
I have a C&L with 91 Bama Race tune, GT500 take-off.
Any suggestions.

Auto I assume? Could be something with the trans not down shifting properly, What happens if you put it back to the stock tune?
I have an auto and the shift from 1st to 2nd can have some hesitation, but I don't think its a problem because my car is incredibly smooth when it shifts. (at least as good as the bmw I test drove before getting my mustang)

I think it sounds like you are simply dropping down a gear. I know on my 2006 v6 auto, if I am driving at a constant speed and step on it, it does that. That is just the tranny dropping into a lower gear for more power.
The same thing happens on my chevy truck and my wife's dodge minivan.

This could be the case. So is there anything I can do about it, or do I just not know how to drive.
This is frustrating when another V6 that I know I am faster than comes by on his throttle and i'm just cruizing and try to step on it and.....and............. then I get acceleration.
As far as I know, that is just how autos downshift at large acceleration loads. Most auto vehicles are that way, maybe not quite to that degree, but that is how it is.
