Default Bad exhaust drone!!

Just got duel exhaust installed with magnaflo mufflers on my V6. Outside of the car sounds great, inside not so great. It was put on by a local shop. Is this pretty normal or is there something I can do. Sorry don't know a lot about this.

Thanks

you need to have some resonators installed. That will cause the exhaust gas to reach the mufflers at slightly different times and cause the drone to be less. I need a set on mine.

I tried a set of magnaflow resonators as mufflers. The drone was horrible. Took them off the next day.
The magnaflow dual in/out in my truck drones, too, but with some shielding, it blocked a lot of the drone.

haha, you think that is bad? I had a o/r setup in my 3.8 with a fully gutted interior. Now that is drone, lol. Like others have said though, go with some resonators. Magnaflow isn't known to be that loud, kindof surprised at that.

What kind of shielding do you mean? I was thinking dynamat in the trunk and floor board might help but not sure.

Actually I used a metal shield above the muffler (this was on the truck). It defelcted a lot of the noise away/out, so interior sound material wasn't needed.
That'd be a little harder to do something like that on a stang though, but it could be done.
Interior dynamat might be your best choiuce...or a change in the setup.

I also just noticed that where the factory exhaust came together and went back to the one side. The shop cut it there then caped it, but there is a 2 or 3 inch branch (again caped) on the way back instead of a straight shot on the one side. Would that cause any performance problems or more drone?
