Default Anyone using a CAI which doesn't require a Tune?

Hey,

Im looking to get a CAI for my 07 V6, And I am not buying it for power gains more of just an appearance and sound feature.

Is anybody currently using a CAI which doesn't require a Tune and what are your thoughts?

Thanks

Both the K&N and BBK intakes have chrome finishes and are pretty nice. Ebay has a plethra of CAIs that I don't believe require a tune. If you're not looking too much for performance then the field is wide open.

I have an S&B. It was installed on the car when I bought it so Im not sure if it makes any difference. I probably would go with one of the more reputable brand names if i was you. Ex. K&N or BBK

I bought the K&N, but mostly because I got it used for $75, and I find it kind of hard to qualify it for the original $300 price tag. However, I can say that you will get the sound you are expecting and the 5-7 hp gains the site promises don't seem too far fetched, but I have no way of knowing for sure. So yes, if the sound and better appearance is worth the money to you then you won't be disappointing. Plus, if you do get a tune eventually, I have heard the difference between a CAI that does and one that doesn't require a tune is barely/not noticeable

Thanks for the info! I have heard the BBK causes check engine light to come up and also run lean?? Are the K&N or Air Raid any different?

If you just want a cai without a tune your probadly safer going with the K&N. Most others you will take a chance of turning on the check engine light. Why go halfway. Save for a tuner and get something out of this mod. To me your wasting you money without a tune. Show with no go!
