Default GT manual tranny

Newtakeoff.com is offering a GT manual transmission for $700. Do you guys think it's worth it? I have the 5-speed manual on my V6. Is there a huge difference?

The V6 tranny is fine for all 4.0L Naturally Aspirated power levels. Add Forced Induction to the mix and you could approach and surpass the stock tranny's ability to stay together. An adapter would be needed to mate that tranny to the 4.0L. If you're going to all that trouble, you might want to consider the GT500's 6-speed transmission (albeit not a cheap transmission). There are a couple of V6 6-speeds out there now.
