The X-charger is looking at about 90hp gains right now. It is said that theyre coming out with an intercooled version of the X. Basically this cools down the air after it has been compressed which makes the air hot. Cooler air is more dense so you can get more into the engine giving more hp. Ive heard the intercooled X will give about 120-130hp about 30-40 more than the non intercooled x. But once again this is out of your 1000 dollar range. If you do decide to go FI and your looking for more hp, Procharger may yield slightly more power, probably around 320-330 to the wheels(with a tune and intake and exhaust). But before you go FI you'll probably want to do gears and such. Theres alot that can/should be done before a supercharger
