I just installed a used gta muffler from ebay on my v6 and the exhaust tip is pushing on the bumper. All it is an axle back install, just swapped the mufflers.
Will I have to worry about the bumper melting ?
and how do I shift the tip over so it isn't touching the bumper anymore ?
I know cutting the bumper is an option but I would really like to leave that to a last resort.

Pushing on the bumper where?
Pics?
The bumper will melt if it is touching it.
Loosen the first clamp on the intermediate pipe up by the tranny
and the GTA clamp.
Align the muffler tip and tighten the clamps.
Bend the hanger wires if so needed...

I loosed up the pipe clamp with no luck of moving it. Also the hanger brackets have a lot of give to them so idk what bending the hangers will do in terms of movement.
Also if you want some more specific pictures of something ask.
It looks like if you get it aligned properly it may just clear the bumper. Loosen the clamp and have some one hold it in position while you tighten it. In the end you may find you'll have to bend the hangers at the muffler some to get it where you want it.
You may have to loosen the clamp after the H pipe to get additional room for the proper alignment. Just don't forget to tighten it after you're done.
I've still got the stock Y pipe, the h is my next project
Also, as I said before I've already tried the method of loosen clamp reposition then tighten with no luck. I've come to the conclusion that I think the pipe is slightly bent or the curve pipe of the muffler is a few degrees off from the stock v6 muffler, just enough to make the GTA collide with the bumper. So I don't think there is anything I can do but cut the bumper...
Are you sure that you have the hangers in the correct position? When we put my GT take offs on, at first they weren't lined up and found that the hangers weren't mounted in the brackets properly.

How can they not be in the right position ? I only saw one hole for each screw.
take a scrap piece of galvanized or black iron pipe and
slip over the welded brackets withe the long rod on each
end and bend them up a bit which will place the muffler
down in the bumper slot far enough for clearance. remount
to the rubber hanger and align and tighten. You'll have to
play with it a couple time to get them even. Easy to do.
Tighten the clamp to the midpipe end and you are good to
go. make sure the midpipe is not hitting bodyparts or the
rear or you'll here rattling.
