I am wondering if the axleback exhausts made to fit the gt's will fit on my v6. All of the sites that sell them say that they only fit gt's, however I have seen v6's put gt take-off mufflers on their cars. I already have an x pipe and dual catback, but I want a nice sounding axleback with a smaller muffler. Any advice?

The GT passenger side axleback will fit the V6. No changes to anything needed. I installed my '07 takeoff on my g/f's '06 V6. But be sure to get the one from a manual. It's less restrictive and sounds better than the one from an auto. The p/n's are different. Do a search in the forum as this has been discussed over and over and over.
just to test if your x pipe will fit one, buy a cheapo take-off online and test it out. i got a pair for 40 shipped. i'm having my H installed with take-offs for this very purpose.

You won't have fitment issues. When a company lists an exhaust system as GT rather than V6 its usually just letting you know you're getting two mufflers vs. a single. So "GT" really just means "mustang with dual exhaust"

Thanks, that is what I wanted to know. Thanks to everyone for their help, this opens up many more options that I can tackle with my setup.

Sticking out is really not a problem.
It helps to keep the bumper clean of the black exhaust soot.
But yes, a GT take-off rear bumper cover would make
the GT take-offs exit OEM. Be sure to get M/T take-off muffs....
No...really, using the V6 bumper looks like junk. Look at this:

Kinda tough to see in the second one but it looks really bad with the tips sticking out IMHO. Spend the couple hundred buck and get either a GT takeoff or get a GT bumper and have it painted. You will be much happier.
