Any of the CAI's that require a tune are equivalent in performance. But more importantly, did you get a tune? A CAI w/o a tune won't do much performance wise. The CAI & tune combo is the real bang-for-the-buck.
And this intake says it doesnt need a tune-
According to AM:
"No Tune Required. Unlike other Cold Air Intakes on the market for the 2005-2009 V6 mustangs the BBK CAI does not require a computer re-tune. The engineers at BBK really did their homework to improve your pony's power using the stock factory tune."
Never had one on the Mustang (I will after I get it soon), but I have one on my '07 Corvette and it's very solid. Throttle was noticeably more responsive, she sounded better and it got me a solid RWHP gain.
You'll need a handheld tuner but you can get custom tunes either pre-loaded or e-mailed. 2 of the better tuners are Brenspeed and Bama. VMP and Tillman are good also. Even if you get a dyno tune, you'll still need the tuner.
I can't recall but typically you get 3 custom tunes with the tuner from most of the online vendors. Otherwise, it's something like $50-75 for tunes.
FYI: A good CAI & tune will net you 15-25 RWHP or more. A stand alone CAI MAY net you 4-8 RWHP (if you're lucky).
