Default Winterizing my pony

I live in Southwestern lower Michigan and soon I will be putting my pony up for the winter. Just wondering what needs to be done to winterize her. She doesn't see rain or snow.

This has been discussed a billion times...

At the very least:
  1. Fresh oil/filter change (if the existing oil has less than 1,000 miles and/or 2 months old, it's fine for 3-4 months)
  2. Fuel stabilizer (add to 1/2 full tank, top off and then put about 20 miles on the car to get the treated fuel throughout the entire system)
  3. Electrical: either disconnect the battery, attach a battery tender or both
  4. Moisture barrier at least under each tire or, if possible, under the entire undercarriage
The following are not required but helps, depending on storage location and length of storage:
  1. Moth balls in an open container (keeps critters out) OR dryer sheets (smells purty!) in passenger compartment
  2. Wad of steel wool (or other rodent resistant material) in tailpipe openings
  3. car cover

lol I bet this is all normal where places actually have seasons, but if you were in most of CA and somebody walked in on your car with mothballs, dryer sheets, and steel wool all over the place they'd wonder what the hell was going on

You'd be surprised what kind of damage some critters can do, trying to make a nest to keep warm for the winter. I've had mice get into my boat and what a mess! Other guys I know have been out fishing their first trip after the winter only to find a pissed off snake coming out of no where.

Thanks for the help! I going to put a tarp down and drive over it to keep the moisture out. I have also heard that Irish Spring keeps the criters out

My mustang is a toy, and I routinely leave it sitting in the garage for up to three months. The only thing I do is take it out every three weeks or so for a 10 mile drive. Keeps the fluids fresh and the suspesion flexed. One time I left it sitting for a few weeks and when I started it I smelled dog food after it got warm. Turns out a rat was stockpiling dog food in the valley between the heads. That's in my old garage. My new garage is attached and rat-free.
