I have a 2008 mustang v6 that was purchased through a dealer from a rental agency. This car is wire for Daytime Running Lamps (DRL). I would like to change it to be able to control the lights through the light switch module. From the electrical schematics, I see that there is a Smart Junction Box that controls the lights among other things. The DRL is not a programmable parameter for this vehicle. I am thinking of replacing the Smart Junction Box with a standard Smart Junction Box part# 8R3T-14B476-BD.
Can I do this without having problems and will this fix the DRL problem?
I want to put fog lights on the car and be able to turn them on and off through the light switch module. I know that I will need to get a GT Light switch module in order to do this.
