Default Help with changing out spark plugs???

Im looking into changing out my spark plugs on my 06 mustang V6. I have been able to use the Chilton repair manual book on simple maintenence of my vehicle and am trying to use it to help me on my plugs. Any advice on switching them out?? Which type of spark plugs are the best to use?? and how often should they be changed out?? thank you for the help, trying to learn.

Welcome to MF. The plugs on our V6 are pretty easy to change out. Things to watch are to make sure you don't cross thread the plugs putting them in, and don't over torque them down either.

Just take your time and do 1 plug at a time, so you don't mess up your plug wire location. Also try and blow out any dirt around the plug before removing it.

As far as plug types, I don't know. I use ones specific to my S/C.

Get the autolite (5143 is the number I think), the stock plugs are good, and cheap. When I was running nitrous you could hardly tell they were used when I checked them - after 30,000 miles and a lot of nitrous passes on them.
