I NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE READ THIS -->FALLING SNOW IS CAUSING MALFUNCTIONING
1st Post on MF! Glad to be here.
This may seem ridiculous and I agree with your 1st thoughts (WTF?!) but still need to figure out what the @#$% is causing this problem.
My 2006 mustang (COMPLETELY STOCK, i know i know, its the fiancee's not mine but still) has a problem when i try to drive and it is SNOWING.
LITERALLY SNOW MUST BE FALLING FROM THE SKY
MY WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON THEN AFTER TIME THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR HAS SERIOUS PROBLEMS ACCELERATING AND MAINTAINING ANY SPEED. VICIOUS JERKING OCCURS DURING ACCELERATION AND TO BE HONEST IT IS VERY FRIGHTENING BECAUSE THERE IS SNOW FALLING AND OBVIOUSLY SNOW ON THE GROUND.
I TOOK IT TO AUTOZONE TO CHECK A CODE AND I DONT REMEMBER THE CODE # BUT I REMEMBER IT WAS SOMETHING WITH TRACTION CONTROL. I AM NOT EXCITED TO TAKE THIS TO FORD FOR INSPECTION AS I REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS OR HOW TO EXPLAIN WHAT CAUSES IT.
IM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS BEFORE IT STARTS TO SNOW AGAIN. THE OTHER DAY IT DID THE SAME THING BUT I DIDNT DRIVE FAR AND IT WAS JUST FLURRIES AND WE HAVENT HAD SNOW SINCE.
ANY IDEAS GUYS? I KNOW THIS SOUNDS STUPID BUT WHAT THE @#$^ COULD CAUSE THAT??!?!?!?!?!?

How hard are you accelerating? Is it just your traction control working because you are spinning the tires?
Try turning the TCS off and see if that changes anything - you just push the button on the dash. It would be nice if we knew what the code was that you had. If it is a malfunction in the TCS then your only choice is to take it to the dealer for service.

+1 to what Jim said though I doubt turning it off then on will do anything. Sounds like a problem that would need to go to a shop for unless you can remember the code that was tripped.
hey guys. i am not sure why but this mustang doesnt have a TCS button on the dash. im almost positive the code was P601B but my memory could be failing me. i'll have to get another code check next time i have the problem.

Does it have the Pony Package? base model V6's don't have TCS, mine does not.

unfortunately the fiancee picked a base base model and there are no addl features on her mustang.
as far as acceleration is concerned she drives it like a granny so no she is not spinning tires, even in the snow.
say for instance i'm driving 65 on cruise and it starts to snow ... then the snow somehow causes the car to freak out and viciously jerk and is not easy to throttle up to maintaining speed(assuming i immediately turn the cruise off because of this issue) ... it is very tricky and i dont want to take it to a dealer because they'll be like "NOTHINGS WRONG" since it wont be snowing when they drive the vehicle.
it really is the weirdest thing i have ever experienced in all of the 10 vehicles i have ever had. it makes absolutely no freaking sense.
