I have a 2006 V6 Mustang--the check engine light has come on 4 times in the past 6 months. Two qualified shops (including an authorized Ford service center) cannot find a problem and cannot tell me why the light comes on. They turn it off, charge me for a diagnostic fee and I wait until it turns on again. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks, Raymond

Reason: errors
What were the error codes? Dealerships should have been able to diagnose and fix the problem....is it still under warranty?
moved to the tech section
welcome to the forum!
Also when the check engine light comes on does the car still run well? Or does it have serious problems while running with the check engine light on....
It is usually an emissions problem or the gas cap is defective or not creating a good seal when closed.....if the car runs fine and the light comes on then go to Autozone or Oreiley's (Murrays Discount Auto) and they can read the OBD II code (s) that the car is experiencing and they clear it for free!
