Auto Headlights

Auto Headlights
I have a 06 and was wondering if anybody knows if you can do any wiring to make the headlights come on when you start the car. I have a 07 impala and the headlights have a auto position when you start the car, nice feature. That way you don't have to worry about daytime running lights.

That is a gm thing with the auto headlights, the only thing I could think of is to first figure out the amps that the lights use, find another component that turns on when the engine is started and rewiring it to that component and then increase the fuse to accomodate the extra draw, but in all opinion it's not worth it, if you change the stuff around and it's not done correctly you could fry something that is really important.

Ford software, maybe.
Its a software thing, not a hardware thing.
Are we talking daytime running lights or
full on 100% low beam during the day.
The latter can be accomplished by placing
a normally closed relay in the headlight wire
and have it open the headlight circuit when
the ignition is on. Simple pimple.
Tan/white wire on the back of the headlight switch.
Hook the relays coil to the accessory delay
available in the SJB in the pass side kick panel.

LOL yeah, there's no way that anything from a 2010 V6 could be converted to fit an 06 because the cars are completely different. Whatever.

The headlight switch makes a circuit to ground to turn OFF the
headlights and unmakes that same circuit to ground to turn
ON the headlights.
Reversed Logic of sorts.
If the switch goes bad, the headlights default to being on.
Thats better than them not coming on when the switch breaks.
