got about 85k on my mustang wanted to tune it up. maybe a coil, wires, plugs. anything else? its starting to feel a little slugish need all the help i can get...not to familiar with these fords

some say the demon coil and livewires didnt help, some say they had issues but i thought it was great. i got good results from the bosh fusion plugs too.( ive tried a few and i`m going back to those) clean the throttle body and maf sensor.

No need to replace the coil pack unless it is broken, if it is functioning then just continue to use it; screamin demon coil isn't needed even on a boosted car. I have 167,500 on my original coil pack and the car runs great. If you haven't changed the fuel filter you are overdue, and if you have an automatic you need to change the transmission fluid and filter.

Plugs should be checked and probably changed, although mine weren't too bad at 85K, even after running nitrous on the car. The best buy on plugs is just get the stock autolite 5143 and gap them properly. The more expensive plugs don't do anything more for you other than lighten your wallet, and with the waste spark used by the 4.0L some of the pricey plugs will cause you problems.

You have an 07 like me. These are the stock replacement plugs for 07+

Motorcraft SP-412 AGSF24N for all 6. I have the SD coil and did notice a little pick up. I have them gapped at 0.065 and been running great for >1 yr.

Stock gap is .05X. Check owners manual or google it. Plugs, wires, fuel filter, air flilter, throttle body cleaning, oil change, tranny oil change (manual says like 150K! or sooner with extreme use/dusty conditions).

That's pretty much all it.

Not a tune up item really but I do a drain/fill on the antifreeze about every 40 - 50K miles to keep things "fresh" instead of waiting and doing a complete flush/fill at longer intervals. Takes about 3 gallons @ 50/50 blend going this route.

i'd change your fuel filter and call it a day. you will notice a difference

i appreciate the help guys. now i was told by a few people i should just go back to stock wires but i would like some color under the hood and was kinda set on the livewire, what do you think? i deffinitly overlooked the fuel filter but will change it. and as far as the anit freeze....the t-stat housing went so i flushed it when i changed that like 10k ago..thanks again.

ya, ive got yellow livewires, i like the colors too. the livewires are 8.5mm then they have the colored covers on the making them 10mm. they have been great, but are hard to get in the oem looms. i used the oems for a year then i bought some aluminum ones. there are some other colored wires out there though.

+1 on not replacing the coils OR the wires. Replace the plugs, replace the air filter, replace the fuel filter, run a tank or 2 of the proper mix of Techron or SeaFoam. A CAI & custom tune (check American Muscle and Brenspeed websites) will add about 15 RWHP.
