I would say there is a difference if not noticeable, but just based upon physics, for the fact that the air temperature inside the throttle body will be much cooler now. I have only driven it for a few miles since I did it so it was hard to tell.

i did this bi pass a couple years ago. it didnt really make any difference that was noticable. but like was said, removing heat sure didnt hurt. those lines are not needed for any reason. however, it makes removing the tb to clean so much easier, its well worth doing. at some point i`m just gonna replace the metal tube assembly for a 06 that doesnt have the tb coolant lines and eliminate the bi pass all together.( but that part is not cheap) ididnt bother making a loop to go under the tb. i used the longer hose and just turned it around and clamped it onto the tubes.

To me it feels like the car stays responsive like the first few minutes of a cold start and doesn't seem to get that bogged down feeling.

I'm glad you did it. Those hoses had those nasty red lines running along them. It may have spread to your muffler bearings...

Good write-up and pics.

Yea I know! One of them had a leak and was starting to pull fluid from my blinker fluid reservoir...

Soo I finally took some initiative and got this done today. Very good write up Eddie, a lot easier than I thought it would be. Haven't noticed any significant differences, but we'll see over time. Definitely seems like it would keep things cooler, which is a plus

It gets pretty cold up here in PA, is that a concern?

No sir, it gets in the teens here so I wouldn't worry about it. Plus all the other 06+ 4.0's don't have heated TB's and they have no issues!

And thanks!

True, that's what I was thinking. Just wanted to double check.

Can't say I've noticed a performance increase/decrease but when put on cold the air seems to be a little cooler. It was always hot/warm even when on cold

Thats odd lol. I think you will notice more of a difference when you have been driving the car for a little bit then just your average run around the block.
