Power outlet in center console not working
#11
Makes sense about the coins - I hadn't thought of that being a possibility.
While we're talking about these sockets: I would like to keep my USB plug in the socket when I'm not using it, but the socket is powered when the key is off. Does anyone leave theirs plugged in (without anything else plugged in) and it NOT drain the battery?

I unplug mine just for the fact that I don't want to take a risk on draining the battery, I had enough charging system problems as it was. All these new cars draw some milliamps when the car is just setting, it shouldn't be enough to drain it over a few days, but if you let it sit for a few weeks don't be surprised if its dead.

Genius!
After testing the outlet with a multimeter and confirming it worked, I stumbled upon this suggestion... Nevertheless, you were correct! In my case, it was a dime.

Cannot Locate the correct fuse
Hi guys, I am having the same issue,
my center console Aux Power Plug is not working. I think i just burned the fuse up. I notice where the previous answer stated it was Fuse #64, but my Power Distribution Box doesn't have a fuse #64. Anyone know where this fuse is located? I have a 2011 Ford Mustang V6 Coupe (Non Convertible).

Center console
Hi there peeps. New here. Just wondering how hard it is to disassemble the center console to get to the 12v outlet? Want to take it out and replace it with a USB version that hooks up to my stereo. To be able to access android auto and whatnot

its not terribly difficult. its the first part to come out to get to the stereo bezel. IIRC, the 2 rear most outer screws are removed then there are 2 in the bottom of the compartment under the lil piece of "carpet". pull the parking brake up, remove the shifter trim and **** (if 5 speed) then just lift up from the back and over the park handle. you can then unplug the power outlet and remove the console. good luck
