Default Washing the car question

this is a very random question first of. I live near the country and all we have it well water. I was informed never to wash my car with well water because it is bad for the paint because of the salt in the water. Is there a filter or something that anyone uses in this situation or an attachment to a hose (like the mister clean thingy) to help? Thanks!

I guess it would depend how your well system is set up. At my house i have well water but it is so filtered i dont think it would matter.

I use a water deionizer from Griots Garage on my well water. If I don't I get serious water spots that are almost impossible to get off especially on the glass.
