Default V6 RPM limit

What is the RPM limit on the 4 liter V6? Modifying the engine beyond the stock RPM. Thanks

RPM LIMIT or the factory default redline?

I'm not sure anyone knows the upper limit. But on my GT, the factory rev limiter is set at 6250. Brenspeed reset it in their tune to 6800 and I moved it back down to 6500 RPM. And I bounce off it on occasion.

I have mine set at 6000 to be careful. I wouldn't be surprised to see people push 7K without problems on occasion.

7000 might be a tad higher. I would say you can push as far as 6500 on stock internals, but would go above that. you'll most likely start bending/breaking internals.

Thanks for the info. I have a particular exhaust system in mind and it will sound good at higher RPM. Spad

The 4.0L valves tend to 'float' as rpms get up there. Upgrading the springs would help that and allow a little safer rev range.
