It isn't bad reading the gauges over in the center at all. A quick glance and I can get what I need. But it would be easier with all digital - the most important one, the AFR, is digital though. The boost just lets me get a sense of belt slip more than anything, and "kind of nice" information on how much boost; it did give me the information I needed to determine my cats were clogged though based upon the vacuum reading, but that was done in the driveway so easy to watch it there.
Well, I can't find a digital boost/vac to match the AFR that I wanted, so now I've changed up the gauges a little.

^^Are the two I think I will go with. I talked to Autometer this morning about possibly getting the boost with a blue light and white face but I haven't heard back from them yet. If I don't hear from them by tonight I'm just going to order the two linked above.

Anybody know exactly how the electronic boost gauge installs as far as the sensor goes? I am interested in getting one.

I can let you know in a week when I get it installed. I am hoping it comes with some kind of directions.

I would imagine it comes with a generic set of instructions, let me know!

I looked at one once and as I recall there is a sensor that goes in the same area as the mechanical gauge line, and then of course the wiring to run into the car and the gauge.

ok here's the deal. It comes with a MAP sensor to mount in the engine bay, a "T", some vac line and wiring.

Jump into the vac line off the sc and hook to the provided MAP sensor. Run wiring from the MAP to the gauge. One wire to headlight switch, one to ground, and one to "switched 12v that has power when switch is 'on' but doesn't loose power while cranking". The gauge I bought has a 'auto-zero' funtion.

The problem is... where do you get a 12v switched supply that doesn't loose power while cranking? The only thing I can think of is the fuel pump, but I don't really want to lengthen the wire that far to pump onto it under the hood.

Any ideas?

ignition wire, I believe does not lose power when cranking on our particular vehicles. Another one would be to the gauge cluster possibly
