here's an update.... i hadn't checked the code after the parts replacement but wanted to clear the CEL and when i connected the code reader it's now a 2197 sensor stuck, bank 2,1. could have the o2 sensor gone bad in the time i drove the car when the cylinder 2 wire, plug, coil position went bad? thanks again.

so, did you solve your misfire? you have a way to monitor the o2? maybe the code set because the o2 was reading rich..

it still ran rough after clearing the 2197 code after i changed the coil & wires. not as rough as with the 302 code though. i only ran it a minute after, not long enough for another 2197 to come in but long enough to feel it running rough. i'll run it again tonight until a code (most likely 2197) comes in. i'm figuring if it does i'll need to change the o2 sensor.

the o2 sensor didn't fix the problem. driver's side cat was cooked. feels good again.
