Default Haunted Mustang

Hey people. So I have noticed recently this soft "knocking" (first on metal knocking and not engine knocking) noise coming from the rear of my 2005 V6 on the driver side. I cannot place the location of the sound but it sound like it is coming from underneath the car around the rear driver wheel (and immediate area). I notice it inside the vehicle as a muffled "knocking" sound. Regardless if the car has been off for days or I just shut it off I hear it. I don't know if it happens when the car is on because the sound is probably masked. The "knocking" sound is repetitive happening every couple of seconds.

The only thing that changed recently was the installation of lowering springs, camber plates (unimportant to this situation), and rear lower control arms.

Any ideas on this at all? Thanks.

Is this a moving or stationary noise?
Are the LCAs installed backwards?

I can't hear the noise in motion or when the car is running so I don't know if it does not occur or if the sound is masked the by engine, tires, ETC. I hear it when stationary and the engine and power is off. I can leave my car sitting for a weekend, I'll get in, and it will still be going.

The LCAs are in the correct position.

Maybe an almost dead body in the trunk?
A soft knocking when everything is shut off?
Strange indeed.

When the engine is shut off, the exhaust will contract a bit but on the 4.0, that's on the passenger side. Unless the fuel in the tank is sloshing around violently, I can't think of anything that would be moving with the engine off.

You have Grimlins... Don't feed them after 11pm or you'll have a mess.

Disconnect your radio or rear speakers and see if you still hear something...
Also, bad ground on your fuel pump?

I think your mustang may need an exorcism.
