Default Single Exhaust Question

Hey all!

Dropping in on behalf of the girlfriend again. So summer feels like it's getting close and I want the eibach pro-system plus kit for my GT and the girlfriend wants an exhaust that's a little throatier. If I had my way and she had the money I'd have her go dual no doubt, she'd love that. But unfortunately money is tight.

I thumbed through the exhaust clip thread but thought I'd just ask what any of you thought of as the best solution for single exit exhaust. For sound preference, the aim is for less of a racey road course car sound and more of a deeper throaty sound. I know you can only get so deep with the 4.0 engine but you guys are the experts and unfortunately there's tons of info on dual exhaust but people aren't often posting about single exhaust.

Any advice you guys have would be great!

I've heard good things about the GT takeoff and SLP's. I have the Pypes Streetpro and a NTB tech told me it sounded like a 350Z, so I would not recommend it. LOL

That's a tough one. I tried an MRT Interceptor when I had a single exhaust and it was okay. This muffler goes for ~$250 and now it just lays in a box in the garage. If you want to try it I'll give it to you for $50.00 and that includes shipping. Just trying to find a home for it since I'll never get my money back. :-( The link is below.

I suggest a take off GTM (manual trans)
They are cheap, so if she doesn't like the sound she's
not out a bunch of money.
I tried a Magnaflow single. It lasted about a month.
Got a pair of GTM's and ran single for a couple months before
going dual.

To be honest, yes. Not horrible but it could be annoying at times.

I'm in the GT(Manual) takeoff camp myself. Procured a pair of them from NTO. Ran single for quite some time and finally went with Pypes X-pipe and full duals (GT takeoff). Very happy with it.

The muffs they sold me were basically new.... You can simply swap out the single and add on the rest at a later time... all you'll need are an X-pipe, Driver side intermediate and driver side exhaust hangers.

I'll be keeping the offer in mind! I'll PM you probably in the next few days. I just need to check into my budget this month and see if I have the room to splurge a little and surprise her. (:
