GT/Shelby GT mufflers

GT/Shelby GT mufflers
I've seen and researched that the Shelby GT500 mufflers are same mufflers as the FRPP GTA's 5230. I'm looking at picking up a set from someone locally taken off his S197 Shelby to put on my 4.0 that I've already converted to dual exhaust. My question is, does anyone know the how to tell if in fact these take-offs are in fact the same as the GTA's?
The part numbers on one of the mufflers is "F1-7849-L" and underneath that number is "1 2926"
Any help s appreciated!
Thanks

I can take a look for you, as I understand the 07-09 GT500's use just standard GT-take off mufflers. I have a pair of GTA axle backs and they are much different from the GT-take off on my car now. The two numbers on my GTA axle backs are. C2306 and 300566

From 2007 -09 the Shelby GT500 used just the stock GT muffler for the automatic (not that the GT500 had an automatic, that is the muffler they used and the GT has different mufflers for automatic and stick during those model years).
The Shelby GT (not the GT500) used the GTA mufflers.
So Mike if they are off the Shelby GT500 then nothing special. If it was a Shelby GT, then you should be getting the GTA mufflers. One way to tell is the muffler tip - the GTA used a double wall muffler tip and the GT was a single with either a slash cut tip (like found on the GT500) or a turned tip on the dress up package, but not a double wall.
This is similar to the rolled tip on the GT dress up package (this happens to be a black chrome tip that slid over the slash cut tip)
This is the double wall you find on the GTA and GTB
I painted the muffler body black, I don't like the look of the big cans hanging down in back. I can't find a picture of the tips before painting only the tips on the car. And I can't find a picture of the stock slash cut tips right now either on the GT/GT500 mufflers

Sorry OP, don't mean to steal your thread. JimC, which product(s) did you use to paint your mufflers? I have Flowmaster AT on mine and one of them is scratched up from when they were installed.

Those are just the regular rolled tips for the dress up package.
The GTA and GTB have rolled tips but they are a lot different.
I'll see if I can find a picture of my GTB's off the car. But they are a double wall tip and bigger.

I appreciate the help. I'll just be waiting for some to go up for sale cheap locally I think. I'm fairly content with the GT manual take-offs so far

I took a couple of pictures of mine on the car but they won't download for some reason.
I did find some for sale on S197 - I saved a copy of the picture. You can see that the GTA tips are a lot different.
