I hope you meant fuel filter. If you did, the fuel filter should be changed between 30k and 50k miles. Some areas have dirty fuel tanks which can make dirt find it's into the filter. I've heard of some folks having clogging issues at 30k and others have no problem after 60k. It's inexpensive enough and not too hard to do if you have ramps or a lift.

what size are your tires? if you put shorter over all height tires than stock, then you just gave up mileage

@Nuke yes meant fuel filter and I will change it if its recommended. Approximately how much would that cost?

@amustangrocks What do you mean by tire height?
Cause I'm not really sure what that means to be honest haha

IIRC, the filter is under $10 at most auto parts stores and the install is DIY if you don't mind a little spilled fuel and getting under the car. I don't know what places charge to do it but I'll bet Ford will rape you.

i think i paid about $16ea. for my last couple fomoco filters. we have 2 of these stangs, i change them at the same time at around 25k-30k. the stock tire height is 27". shorter tires is like adding a higher gear ratio=less mpg. you can punch in your stock tire size ( 215/65-16) and your tire size and see what your height is with any of the tire calculaors

yeah i suggest you change your fuel filter wish i took a pic of mine. all rusty on the outside doesn't really matter. but the inside was disgusting i changed mine at 29k miles . Get an OEM one too don't go for crappy filters. Try highway mileage refill up and throw it in cruise control. see if you reach above 20. Might wanna check out your alignment.
Also i have a mechanic that I've established a personal connection to, he comes and checks out my car when needed gives me tips but he handles the big stuff , tranny flushes etc. good friends to have are mechanics
PS: i also changed my fuel filter without jack stands make sure you disconnect the battery .

... I get 12, in a V6 w a CAI and Bama Race tune...

We dont buy these cars for MPGs. We buy them for the love of them, the joy of driving them, the pleasure of killing imports, and the magic ability that they have which makes girls clothes disappear.

Bottom line: 15 MPG just means youre driving it correctly.
