This is my understanding... can you guys double check it....

Location of Pipe: V6\GT
Headers --> Cats: 2.5\2.5
Cats --> Mid: 2.25\2.25
Mid-->Mufflers: 2.5\2.5

so theoretically we should be able to use everything from the headers back from a GT on a V6..? Are there any differences between the V6 and GT cats? Can I buy a GT cats and back to use on my V6?

You can't swap the cats on the V8 and V6 - the size, angle, and placement after the exhaust manifold is different.

It is 2.25" from cats to the mid pipe (X or H) on the V6, but 2.5" for the V8. The mid pipe/over axle is 2.5" all the way back on both cars.

You can use the X or H from the GT, you just have to cut and weld or cut and band AFTER the cats.

Your chart is incorrect and should be:

Location of Pipe: V6\GT
Headers --> Cats: 2.25\2.5
Cats --> Mid: 2.25\2.5
Mid-->Mufflers: 2.5\2.5

That is why you will see the stepped band connecting the Y on the stock 4.0 set up to the mid/overaxle pipe.

Ah, thanks for the information. I knew I had to have been wrong.

Are the sizes the same in the 2009 - 2013 mustangs?
