Default Will the FRPP GT x-pipe fit the 05-09 V6?

Hey guys, I'm converting to duals pretty soon and I was looking around for the parts, and as I already have the mufflers I want (GT takeoffs) I don't want to have to buy the entire FRPP dual conversion off AM, rather just the x-pipe and the supporting clamps/etc. So I was looking at the GT version of the X pipe, and it has 2.5" piping, so would this fit the V6? I don't remember correctly but does the V6 have 2.25" after the cats?

I know some of you are running an FRPP x pipe, so did you guys buy the whole kit or is there a place I can just get the X-pipe, so I can go get the over axle pipes/muffler hangars from rock-auto or something?

Any other suggestions are also welcome, and I did look at the pypes system on AM that comes without the mufflers, and while it is a perfect kit for me, I have read a lot of bad reviews of pypes systems so this turned me away from that option...

Thanks in advance, I appreciate any insight.

Yeah definitely, thanks for the heads up. I am planning on getting the midpipe from Rockauto as well, can't beat $45 for mandrel bent OEM steel. I know if I let Midas do the piping they'll use some low grade crap that will rust out in like 2 years.

Could I ask what type of setup you have currently? Did you get an x pipe? And if so, which one?

I had the FRPP X pipe on my 2006. All you have to do is hold it up in place to mark where to cut the down tubes and Y pipe out after the cats. You will need a stepped band connector to mate it up because the down tube after the cats is 2.25" and the rest of the exhaust is 2.5" (mid pipe/over axle is the same for the passenger side as the GT, you need just the driver side) and you will notice that the Y pipe is held on with that type of connector.

Ah thanks JimC! That was exactly what I was wondering, I'll see if I can get the shop to fabricate a connector and then I can give them the x, along with my overaxle pipe/hangers and call it a day!

Thanks again.

So Keep the stock passenger side mid pipe and just by the drivers side, and the x pipe?

That's correct. The passenger side mid pipe/over axle pipe is the same part.

Great, I have the mufflers already so this is going to save me a lot of cash. Thanks for that tip!!!! I was thinking the stock mid pipe was 2.25".
