Default Damn Alternators........

Has anyone else gone thru alternators on 2005 V6 ..... Checked all my grounds etc no voltage between block and negative terminal while running. One went out yesterday 18+ volts overcharging. I asked to have battery replaced at the same time due to overvoltage. "Unless my machine says its bad I cant prorate sorry". Wife gets up to take my daughter to school "I think the alternator is bad power windows and wipers not working"

First one lasted from 2005 till 2011 then a new one a year after that another then 3 months now 1 day....... no drain on battery. Is it these damn remanufactured ones?

Advanced Auto just told me they are buying me out since this is 2 alternators in 3 months

I've replaced out a couple of batteries, however no alternator issues. (knock on wood)

So battery tested bad and I paid additional 30.00 to upgrade to the New alt instead. Fingers crossed but after this episode my ABS and traction control lights are stuck on along with idle seeming to real low

The OE batteries and alternators in these S197's are barely marginal. If one is weak it'll take out the other. PA Performance alternators seem to be the cure for those having issues.
