The manual transmission calls for Mercon ATF (not Mercon V). If memory serves me right, it takes just under 3 quarts. However, I think you'll find quite a few people who swear by AMSOIL or Mobil 1.

I am also about to change mine, i was going to go with Amsoil but when going to shop to purchase it a guy there told me that he would recommend Royal Purple over Amsoil. Does anyone have experience with the Royal Purple? Setting cost aside i too would like to find what the best option is

You can go here to enter your vehicle information for recommendations:
http://www.amsoil.com/index.aspx?zo=1851728

For the '06 4.0L T5 it recommends:
http://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-produc...?code=ATFQT-EA

really depends on your mods and driving habits as to what brand you should put in. Mine is a daily driver with few mods that's mostly driven on the highway, when I have had mine changed I just used what was recommended I have 180K miles on my car with no transmission problems as of yet.

I put Mobil 1 in mine. The improvement in the transmission performance was startling.
