Default To Turbo or Supercharge

Stuck in a bind here. Time has come to where I can finally afford to boost! Now Im just stuck between going the turbo or supercharger route. The goal is to have 350 rwhp and atleast be able to run low 13s and hit 12s with dr's.

I also want to try to piece together my own kit but am not very knowledgeable on everything I would need so any one with experience doing that, help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

If thats all you are looking for and ease of installation then go with a supercharger. A Vortech will run you less then an X Charger and will put you at 350rwhp (depending on your tranny) with a 12psi pulley.

Oh, should have been more clear. Its either go with a Vortech or go the turbo route (not a big x-charger guy). And I have an auto.

Thanks

Cost wise, ease of installation, etc I would go with the Vortech. My buddy I bought mine from was making 335rwhp through an auto with just gears and an aluminum DS on his car he was running 12.6 on street tires.

Yes 13 pound pulley (2.87) but at the manifold makes around 12.5-12.6 depending on the temperature.

several people have done the install in the garage. i think the only thing you need to do that isnt wrenching is tapping the oil line? and also with turbos you have to take into account you have to get rid of your cats but youll be able to make more power

I didn't install it but only for one reason. With the V2 Vortech a hole in the timing chain cover needs to be drilled for the oil return line which I wasn't comfortable doing. However, if you get the newer V3 that is a self contained oil wise its do able in a garage. Hell, the V2 was doable but like I said I didn't want to drill the timing chain cover.

Is it possible to just buy the vortech supercharger by itself and then piece together a system? Would that be much cheaper?
