I replaced my stock battery last year after it finally died. I was finding myself cleaning the negative terminal often due to a build up of corrosion. Now with the new battery it is still doing the same thing. Talked to a friend who also has a 4.0 and said he is having the same issue. I wondered if anyone knows why this is happening? Is there some type of disimilar metal corrosion going on? any thoughts?

AGM Batteries do much better with corrosion.
I needed to replace the cable harness when I first took possession of my '04.
I'm still running the liquid acid battery, but when it needs replacing, an absorbed glass mat type will go in.

Usually, terminal corrosion is an indication of a crack where gassing is causing the terminal to corrode. Most case cracks will occur at the terminals as they are weak points in the overall structural shell design.
Is there any chance that you or someone has over-tightened the clamp to the point of stressing the case-to-terminal?
I agree with nuke, the first thing you need to do is check for cracks. If you don't find any though I would reccomend you purchase battery terminal washers (the $2 felt ones) and some battery terminal spray. I have had corrosion issues on a few older vehicles before so I started using these things and they help tremendously. I now put a set of the washers and spray on every vehicle I own. If that doesn't help then you definitely have a bigger issue.
