Question Heater Hose necessary on intake?

I was putting in my CAI and theres a hose that goes from the back of the engine to the intake labeled "heater hose". Im assuming that transfers hot air into the intake and Ive heard that the 05's have a heated throttle body.

Do I need to have this hose or can I remove it? If I remove it, will I have a CEL on?

The 2005 had a throttle body heater that was dropped starting in 2006. There is a write up on how to delete it and you won't get a CEL by doing so.

The image below is the hose I am referring to. I did the throttle body on saturday and it took me about 30 mins. The hose I was originally asking about is the one that is coming out of the intake and leads to the rear of the engine. Is this hose OK to remove?

You could put a breather on the valve cover and remove it, I have a homemade catch can on that side and I have had maybe only a drop of oil come through there. Why do you want to remove it? You may have idle issues if you remove it unless you plug the hole on the hose.

That looks like a PCV valve hose that was replaced with heater hose.

Where is the PCV valve on the 4.0L? is it on the side of the head/valve cover?

I guess so. It went into the old intake and the stock pipe was shaped weird and it wouldnt fit on the intake
