Default Wheel Bearings.

In addition to some other things I'll be doing to the 'Stang.... Right Front wheel bearing. This will be the 2nd time I'm replacing it.

Thought that a bit unusual... but then, on my '04 'Stang, the first wheel bearing went at about 40K miles.

This seems to be a running theme with these new "hub assembly" type replacements.

I suppose it's still better than having to remove, clean, re-pack bearings... and ensure they're properly pre-loaded.

And what's the deal with this one-time use spindle nut? It sure doesn't look all that special....

Just commenting. Gonna be a busy couple of days. :-)

My passenger front started getting noisy sometime before 30K. I replaced it with a timken early last year. I replaced the nut just because it was recommended. Looked like it could have been reused. Maybe the torque required to tighten it deforms the threads. I did reuse the spindle nut cover though.

Yeah... those spindle nuts sure seem "robust" for single use. Must be a thread thing. Rather pop for the new nut than risk other issues for sure.
